Young Romance - Pale

Back at the beginning of the year we made a new music video for the Kingston duo, Young Romance for their single 'Pale', which will be released as a limited 7" pressing in March.

As far as the styling for the video the duo went for a throwback of looks, and tried to compliment the song with an old VHS feel. We wanted to test our styles as see what we could do differently with this as a performance video. Matthew Connell gathered royalty free stock footage and edited together a sequence that was projected onto the band during the performance. Then to add to the vintage and almost glitchy look, Matthew Hoare played the finished sequence through a an old Sony Trinitron CRT Monitor from the 80's and filmed the monitors screen, to seal the look and resulting in the finished product.

Since making the music video the track has been gathering pace with premieres on sites such as The Line Of Best Fit, and even being spun on Steve Lemacq's BBC 6 Music show.

Yesterday, after a few weeks of scheduling and PR work around the duo, the video was premiered on the Beat.

For our good friends at KOKO we put together a promotional video to commemorate the first event, and will hopefully be able to show you plenty more for the future events throughout 2014!

Beasts 'Annie' (Audio Only)

Tom hanging around

A new band we have been working with lately is the Twickenham three piece, Beasts

They've certainly put themselves out there already having played support slots for the likes of Miles Kane and Dinosaur Pile-Up.

We were in the studio with the lads back in December 2013 filming them record a couple of new tracks with the legendary Dan Weller from SikTh, who has produced albums for Enter ShikariYoung Guns and many more! The short studio documentary with Beasts will be released later in the year.

Since then we have filmed a experimental/audio only video for their track "Annie" the day after it was exclusively Premiered on BBC Radio 1's Rock Show with Daniel P Carter.

The idea for this video was rather simple, we got each of the lads down to the studio in Soho and got them to hang upside down in a very simple and possibly unusual companion to the track! We certainly had a lot of fun shooting this! The video was exclusively released on Art Rocker.

What are your thoughts?

A Belated Happy New Year and an Update from us here at Fenixx

It's been a while since we've given our blog some love, but it has been all for a good reason! 2013 was an incredible year for us, which got even busier towards the end. We easily had our best year of business, and just didn't get the time to share it all on here.

We were lucky enough to receive sponsorship from Red Stripe for a four episode run of KOKO Presents in 2013, which we have now come to the end of. We had some amazing guests during this run, which included We Are Scientists, Splashh, Submotion Orchestra, and also Emmy The Great and Ash's Tim Wheeler.

Below is the final episode with Red Stripe. We return this year with a special KOKO Presents episode with BBC Introducing, featuring The Bohicas and Baby Strange.

We spent most of December doing a heap of jobs, notably some exciting projects coming out of a recent visit to Tel Aviv, Israel, with our friends King Lizard. On top of this, we also shot a short studio documentary with Beasts, when they were recording two tracks with music producer, Dan Weller.

We capped off our year with a nice quick production with The Script, who we filmed and edited their Christmas Video for this year with our friends, HOOKD. They are lovely chaps who we've had the pleasure of having them star in some of our work with The Rock 'N' Roll Diaries.

2013 has not only been about us, but we have also extended our skills to work with some talented people. We have had the pleasure to spend some of the second half of the year doing a few jobs with Mahogany Media Group, made popular by the "Mahogany Sessions" on YouTube. We edited together some great videos for Samsung: Mixmag at Shoreditch Boxpark and The British Red Cross in association with photographer Paul Conroy.

Now its 2014, we have plenty of really exciting work to share with you, even just for the month of January! We promise to keep this updated more often and will share with you more of our upcoming work.

Creatures Of Love - 'Sutra Sweat'

Our lastest and 10th music video has officially been released today. This time we have been working with the wonderful, Creatures Of Love.

They approached us with the concept of a man on a tredmill eating food...so of course we stepped it up a gear and took it to the sky.

We also decided on stepping up the decision with equipment, we were lucky enough to get approval to hire the Sony FS700, which was a dream to use. The slow motion function on the camera is beautiful, every shot was amazing, making for a tough decision making selects for the edit.

We hope you enjoy this video, and share it amongst your friends, and we apologies if you have chosen to watch this on your lunchbreak.

KOKO Presents, We Are Scientists

This week, our episode of KOKO Presents comes as a special one...

First off it's with the high profiled band, We Are Sceientists, Silas chats to them about their new album, and has a game of Rock, Paper Scissors. Secondly, the episodes are now in association with Red Stripe.

We are very excited that the video-podcast now has the backing from Red Stripe (nice to hear they can see the potential), and now we have even higher optimism for the future, and what this will bring.

Watch the episode and enjoy.

Next week we are releasing our next music video, this one is for Creatures Of Love, and it's our most biggest production yet...we can't wait to unleash it!
